Schedule Change Requests for 25-26 School Year

Student course lists will be released on Tuesday, June 10th through HCPSS Connect/Synergy. This is just a list of courses, this is not a complete schedule. Schedules will be worked on throughout the summer and changes will be made for a variety of reasons (staffing adjustments, balancing class sizes, etc). Students should submit any schedule change requests directly to their counselor.  Please be patient over the summer with your counselor’s reply due to summer hours. 

Parents/guardians may view/download scheduled courses for the 2025-2026 school year by:

  • Logging in to HCPSS Connect Synergy using parent/guardian credentials.
  • Selecting “More Options” from the left panel.
  • Selecting “2025-2026 Scheduled Courses” from the middle. The scheduled courses display.
  • Howard County Public School System

Starting on the first day of school, the below timeline will be used to prioritize access to courses for graduation, balanced class sizes, and instructional needs. No schedule changes can be guaranteed after the start of the school year. Summer is the best time to request a schedule change.

Schedule Change Request Process during the summer:

Summer Phase - June 10 through August 20 

  • This is the best time to request an adjustment to your courses.
  • Email your counselor with your requested adjustments and they will get back to you. You may need parent approval for some changes. Thank you for your patience as counselors are working on schedules during summer hours.
  • Summer hours for Student Services are in effect from June 23rd - August 12th.  The office is closed June 19th, July 4th  and Fridays in July. Our office hours are from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Clarksville Elementary School (due to construction at RHHS).

Schedule Change Request Process on or after the first day of school:

Phase I – August 25 through August 29

  • Hole in schedule
  • Wrong course was scheduled
  • Aiding and release time

Phase II – September 2 through September 12

  • All Phase I reasons
  • Elective changes
  • Students may only have one round of electives changes (1 form)
  • Level changes
  • Aiding and release time

Phase III – September 15 through September 19

  • All Phase I reasons
  • Level changes
  • Aiding and release time (can only be made during the same period as the dropped course)

Schedule Changes Will Not be Made for the Following Reasons:

  • Teacher preference
  • Period preference
  • To be in classes with friends
