Attention all AP Students!

Mon, 03/04/2019 - 1:15pm

The Registration period for the 2019 Advanced Placement (AP) Exams is open.  The exams are scheduled for the weeks of May 6-10 and 13-17.  To register for the exams, students should log in to their Naviance accounts, and respond to the survey titled “2019 AP Exam Registration/Fee Waiver Request.  After completing the survey, students must print their responses, and submit the printout to the Testing Office (RM 229-by the health room) with their payment.  The exam fee is $94/exam.  A $20 late registration fee should be added to registrations submitted after March 15.  Students who are eligible for financial assistance may take the exams at $15 but they still must register.  Eligibility criteria are listed in the survey instructions.

REGISTRATION IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL THE PRINTED RESPONSE IS SUBMITTED

Where to find the survey:

At the school’s web page (https://rhhs.hcpss.org/), click the link for Naviance, which is under Essential Applications.  Students should login with their username and password.  After logging in, click the “About Me” tab at the upper right, and select the “Home” page.  In the lower section of the left-hand panel, click the link for “See all Surveys”, and select the survey which is titled “2019 AP Exam Registration/Fee Waiver Request”.  The survey has 12 questions.  At the bottom of the survey, there are command buttons which allow the student to either save their responses and return to complete it at a later time, or to complete the survey.  A printout may not be obtained until the survey is completed.

Printing the Survey:

After completing the survey, students should return to their Naviance “Home” > “See all Surveys”, and find the “2019 AP Exam Registration/Fee Waiver Request (WL)”, which should show as “COMPLETED”.  Unfortunately, Naviance’s print format is unfair to the environment.  If you click File>Print, you’ll get a FOUR-PAGE printout.  Please do not print it in that format.  With minor word processing skills, an AP student should be able to reduce it to one page.  The following steps are suggested:

Right-click in the body of the survey results, click Select All, right-click again, click Copy.
Open a blank Word Processing document, and click Paste.
In the Word Processing document delete extraneous lines.  Those would include header information before question 1, footer information after answer 12 blank lines, and hard returns between question numbers and the questions, or between the questions and the responses.  Adjust font sizes and margins if you need to.

Remember, the goal is one sheet of paper.
