Congratulations to 2 River Hill High School students for winning Science awards recently! Gokul Kannan has been selected as a semifinalist in the Regeneron Science Talent Search. His project is titled “Triggering the Brain to Heal Itself after Traumatic Brain Injury: Where Glia, Anesthesia and Nanomedicine Meet.” From this select pool of semifinalists, 40 finalists will be invited to Washington DC in March to participate in final judging, display their work, meet with top scientists and compete for the top award of $250,000. William Cao was selected as a Siemens Semifinalist. This year out of the more than 1860 projects submitted, 491 students were recognized as semi-finalists.
