Class sponsors are special people in the life of a high school community. They commit to sponsoring a class as students navigate through four years of high school and we all know that high school includes a balance between academics, athletics, and student life. This stage in a student's school experience is valuable as students continue to develop their strengths, identify their interests, and learn how to succeed as leaders and as team members. Class sponsors understand this great need and so RHHS wants to applaud our class sponsors as we begin the 2016-17 school year.
Check out this sample of what the classes will be doing this year.
Homecoming
Students begin holding decoration meetings at the beginning of the year and even possibly over the summer if students are highly motivated. Everyone is encouraged to help with the design and display for the hallway-decorating event.
Hawkfest
Class members to participate in HawkFest and may even sponsor an activity for the enjoyment of our community.
Elections
Each class will coordinate SGA elections for the class leaders.
Fundraising
Classes begin to think about fund-raising for class shirts and the Junior year when they will host prom. All classes will participate in the SGA Yard Sale in the Spring
Dances
What a fun time for students. A class can sponsor a back to school dance or a mid-year dance with a theme. Prom planning involves securing a location, music, and snacks.
Class meetings
Student leaders and sponsors will host class meetings and class events to encourage school spirit and student engagement. Each class will post communications for their class through the Canvas Student Community/class groups.
Let's go HAWKS!
