G/T Program Information Night - Dec. 1!

Wed, 11/03/2021 - 3:25pm

Does your child have a passion for a topic that is not a class offered at school? In the Gifted and Talented Independent Research and Intern/Mentor Programs, students can choose to study any topic they wish and get weighted G/T credit for it while differentiating their college and career applications. The courses can be taken repeatedly and in any sequence. Independent Research students are generally 10th-12th graders and Intern/Mentor students are predominantly seniors. Current students in the Intern/Mentor Program are working with the Johns Hopkins APL, NASA, UMD School of Medicine, local business leaders, local attorneys, professors at nearby universities, and many other comparable sites. Students in Independent Research seek out advisors (experts in the field of research) to guide them with their research, an exciting and enriching aspect of the Independent Research course. Both courses allow students to conduct extensive research-based projects which address real needs in the community. To learn more about the program, please register for the virtual G/T Information Night on Wednesday, December 1; registration is required using this link:
