River Hill High Chapter Earns National DECA Honor
River Hill High, a chapter in Howard County Maryland, made their debut recently attending DECA’s annual International Career Development Conference in April. The chapter was recognized at the Leadership Recognition Reception. This event recognizes DECA leaders who have demonstrated exceptional numbers in their DECA chapter and association membership during the past school year, as well as advisors (Teresa Waters) and chartered association advisors who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to DECA Inc.
River Hill High was recognized as one of the top 10 new or reactivated DECA chapters in the high school division. The Leadership Recognition Reception convened Monday, April 23rd, 2018, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, as part of DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC). Additionally, River Hill High students received international recognition in two categories. Team Rubber Restrictor consisting of students Kartik Gupta, Azariah Seblu and Cindy Tian were selected as the high school global winning team in the 2017 DECA Idea Challenge. Student Grant Owens was a semifinalist placing in the top 20 in the Apparel and Marketing Series event.
