GENERAL INFORMATION

Announcements and Posters

Announcements will be made regularly to inform everyone of upcoming school activities. Additionally, special announcements will be posted on the TV monitors bulletin boards throughout the building. All announcements, for print or to be shared on Hawk Talk, must be approved in advance by an administrator.  Likewise, only posters approved by Administration may be displayed throughout the school.

Assemblies

Assembly programs are planned for the education of the student body. Students entering the assembly are to find their seats quickly. Positive and respectful conduct is expected during the presentation.

School Dances

School dances are a privilege for RHHS students. Students are required to complete a Dance Promise form at the beginning of the school year in order to be permitted into any school dance. Each student must purchase a ticket prior to the dance and must present the ticket at the door with a student ID. Ticket sales end 24 hours prior to the dance. NO TICKETS ARE SOLD AT THE DOOR. For prom, out-of-school guests must be approved by the administration.  No student/guest will be admitted later than one hour after the start of the dance, except by prior approval of the administration.  Students leaving the dance will not be readmitted. All school dances must be approved by the administration and have sufficient numbers of teacher and parent chaperones.  Students are expected to dance appropriately, and dancing must adhere to the guidelines for high school dances.  Students who do not adhere to such standards or break any other school rules will be asked to leave the dance.  No refunds will be issued after ticket sales conclude.

All dances will be posted online on the RHHS School Calendar.  Go to http://rhhs.hcpss.org and click on the Calendar icon.

Illness or Injury Reporting

All injuries, illness, or personal injury problems should be immediately reported to the health room. If a student becomes ill, he/she must report to class to receive a note to the health office.

Elevator access is available to students who bring in a doctor’s note and a $5 key deposit to the main office.

Lockers

Lockers for coats and books will be assigned to all students. Students are responsible for general upkeep of the locker itself, as well as any items stored in the locker. The school will not accept responsibility for any items that may be missing from students’ lockers. Please keep lockers locked at all times. Do not keep money or other valuables in lockers. Private locks are not to be used on school lockers. Lockers are subject to search by school officials.

The Board of Education approved the following prices for School Meals and Milk for the 2017-2018 school year:

  • Secondary, $3.25
  • Signature Lunch, $4.00
  • Student Breakfast, $2.00
  • Milk, 50¢
  • Reduced Price Lunch 40¢; Reduced Price Breakfast 30¢.

Parents who drop off lunches are asked to write the student's full name on the lunch bag and drop off in the Front Office prior to the first lunch shift.  Students will be able to pick up these lunches from the cart in the cafeteria.

Parking Regulations for Students

Priority for student parking at RHHS is given to seniors as well as juniors whose academic program requires them to leave during the school day.  These students must attend the Safe Driving Seminar prior to obtaining a parking permit.  Other juniors may also attend the seminar and will be issued permits if any spaces remain.  One parent must attend the seminar and stay for the entire presentation with their student(s). All outstanding school obligations must be cleared before obtaining a parking permit.  After attending a Safe Driving Seminar, students may purchase a parking permit for $15 and must display it in their vehicle at all times while on RHHS property. Students should bring the signed application they received from the Safe Driving Seminar as well as their driver’s license to the front office when purchasing a permit.  Students who do not display their permit are subject to the provisions elaborated on the Parking Permit Application.  The guidelines and rules for student parking are enumerated on the Vehicle Registration Form.  Students who display forged/copied RHHS permits in their vehicle on property will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include suspension and loss of parking privileges.
