Students

All 9th graders are invited to attend an orientation on Thursday, August 31 from 8:15 am to 12 pm starting in the River Hill High School cafeteria. They will participate in get-to-know-you-activities, take a tour of the building, and watch a video about River Hill procedures and traditions. New 10-12th graders will report to Student Services at 8:15 am. These students will talk with a panel of upper classmen and then watch the video and take a building tour.  All students will then follow their schedules to meet their teachers and learn about their classes. The orientation will conclude with a pep rally followed by pizza. Students will be dismissed at 12 pm, so please plan accordingly.  Students should bring their schedules which will be mailed the week of August 14-18.

Parents

Parents of freshmen and incoming new students are invited to a parent orientation program in the auditorium from 8:30 am – 9:30 am.  During this program, parents will be welcomed by the RHHS administration and athletic director who will share information about the school and extra-curricular activities. They will also learn what they might expect from their transitioning students: physically, emotionally, and academically. Additionally, current and previous RHHS students will share their experiences successfully navigating high school and then answer questions.  The program will close with practical information about how to be involved in students’ education and extra-curricular activities.
