River Hill Students Being Recognized by The Council of Elders

On Tuesday, December 6, at 7 pm, at Hammond High School, The Council of Elders of the Black Community of Howard County (TCOE) in partnership with the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) will be having their Celebration of Academic Achievement program. Students are being recognized for high academic performance during the 2015-2016 school year!  This annual event publicly acknowledges and honors students of African and African-American heritage.  Students receiving this recognition exhibit admirable academic performance in mathematics, language arts, and/or science.  This year’s Celebration of Academic Achievement will honor students who are currently in grades 4 - 9 and have achieved one or more of the following levels of academic success during the 2015-2016 school year.

• Received a grade of “A” or “B” for Mathematics in each of the four marking period

• Received a grade of “A” or “B” for Language Arts in each of the four marking periods

• Scored Advanced on the Maryland School Assessment (MSA) for Grade 5 Science.
