RHHS students Kenny Dustin and Ila Kanneboyina named as semi-finalists for the Ayn Rand Institute's 2016 The Fountainhead essay contest!
This is a great accomplishment. This contest constitutes one of the largest essay contest programs in the world. There were 14,000+ essay submissions representing over one hundred countries. Kenny and Ila's essays were in the top 5 percent of all essays received.
Every year, the Enterprise through Literature program (Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets, UMCP) sponsors a national contest for high school students and their teacher sponsors. Working in teams, students read a book that exemplified the theme of "Fostering the Entrepreneurial Spirit" and then considered how to tie the book to a real world situation/person. To enter the contest, teams were required to write an essay detailing their insights and research and create a video that visually demonstrated these findings. Congratulations to all the winners!
