Parent Access to Course Information and Student Grades

Teachers and students are excited to begin using the Canvas learning management system.  Everyone is learning together about digital tools which include announcements, calendar, and digital pages for course syllabi and content information.  With any new system, we can expect some time for learning a new skill and some technical adjustments.  Our school district is working hard to address questions and quirks of new systems.  A persistent question is when will parents be able to view student progress through grades?  Please understand that grades are being entered in the learning management system so that students and teachers can fully utilize the calendar to include assignments.  The data needs to be a secure transfer to the student information system which houses student records.  As soon as verification for the accuracy of this syncing process, parents will be able to review student grades.

At RHHS, our teachers are conscientious and are closely monitoring the calculation of grades.  They want parents to know that students will be the best source of accurate information at this point; please ask your student about his/her progress.  We do anticipate the printing of interim reports to be sent home in early October and we will let you know as soon as the school district confirms parent access.
