This October, the River Hill High School Theatre Arts Department proudly presents Almost, Maine by John Cariani.
On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend – almost – in this delightful midwinter night’s dream about romantic relationships.
Overseeing the production as producer and co-director is RHHS Theatre Arts teacher Pam Land. RHHS Theatre Arts Alum Jamie Driskill (RHHS ‘04) is also co-directing. Assisting as student directors are Megan Radcliffe and Sarah Tossman. Joe Blasko, a longtime friend of RHHS Theatre Arts, will direct the design and construction of the set with assistance from RHHS alumni parents George Stone and Bob Bost. A crew of more than 30 dedicated students led by student stage manager R.J. O’Brien will build the set, provide the props, and run the show. RHHS math teacher Rhonda De La Mar will coordinate costumes with the assistance of a wonderful team of parent volunteers.
The cast of 28 represents students in grades 9-12 and includes Colin Altman, Amanda Bachman, Josh Cohen, Nina Esposito-Faraone, Tolu Faderin, Matt Floyd, Danielle Gover, Patrick Gover, Thaddeus Harold, Erin Hill, Carly Hirsh, Anna Hovet, Matt Island, Kirsten Jolly, Ben Kamins, Kevin Key, Cooper McGeehan, Sanjay Mysore, Andre Nepomuceno, Emily O’Keefe, Caroline Parisien, Megan Radcliffe, Nikoo Sarraf, Ashleigh Steinberg, Amanda Tossman, Sarah Tossman, Josh Tow, and Amanda Yuan.
Performance dates and ticket information:
All performances will be held in the River Hill High School auditorium.
The performance dates are October 15, 16, and 17 @ 7 p.m. and October 18 @ 2 p.m.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
THE ADVANCE TICKET SALE PRICE ($10) WILL BE HONORED AT THE DOOR IF YOU BRING A NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEM. All food donations go to Howard County Food Bank.
