Last week I shared these updates with you and I have highlighted the new information to clear up any confusion.
- Bells have been adjusted to accommodate the ARL schedule, digital education courses, and the county-wide initiative for flex-time (HawkTime). The bell schedule is consistent for all high schools in order to meet these needs.
- HawkTime will be offered every Wednesday, unless there are conflicts such as a delayed opening due to weather. Students should use this time to balance their academic and social needs. Teachers in every class are available to provide extra help or study sessions. This time is provided at every high school on Wednesday.
- Due to concerns for student safety and HCPSS policies, HCPSS guidelines for attendance at games have been reviewed. I am proud to share that our students responded positively and are representing RHHS with lots of school spirit and sportsmanship.
- Homecoming is just around the corner and a lot of preparation is already underway. A calendar of events will be coming your way very soon. Students may be talking about changes in HawkFest; RHHS will be scaling back with Class tables and Class spirit to continue the Homecoming spirit. Club fundraising will not be a part of HawkFest and student leaders have been asked to provide alternative ideas for future events. Parent volunteers who would like to help sponsor a club or activity with time and/or other resources are encouraged to contact the teacher sponsor or the SGA. Please note: HawkFest is NOT CANCELLED. Student clubs may participate with an approved activity for community engagement. Several clubs have already responded and will be participating.
Sincerely,
Kathryn McKinley, RHHS Principal
