PLEASE READ!! Graduation Parking Information Specific To: River Hill High School

Attached please find the parking map pertaining to this year’s River Hill graduation at Merriweather Post Pavilion.   This designated area system developed in conjunction with Merriweather made parking in 2018 run very smooth and is being used for 2019 as HCPSS deals with the continued challenges of limited weekday parking. 

The color coded area marked as “4” has been designated as the parking lot for River Hill High School graduation guests.  Note that Lot 1 is reserved for Elected Officials and ADA* with an additional 33 ADA spaces as noted.   (*Only vehicles with a state issued handicapped parking permit may park in the designated handicapped spots.)

Guests with mobility issues that require a shorter walk with flatter terrain are encouraged to use the “drop off” area on Merriweather Drive (called Merriweather Way on the map).  After guests are dropped off, vehicles without state issued handicapped parking permits will be directed to park in the general guest parking. 

Please also note the following important information:

• Parking is limited – carpooling is best whenever possible.
• Expect to walk.All of the parking (including ADA and “drop off”) is located some distance from seating.
• Plan for the unexpected.Drive towards the specified lot; however, vehicles may be redirected by parking staff as lots fill.

FROM POINTS NORTH & WEST:
From I-70, exit onto Route 29 South; disregard signs for Merriweather/South Entrance Road (do not take this turn) and, instead, take the next exit which is Broken Land Parkway West towards Merriweather; stay in left lane and turn left at light onto Broken Land Parkway. Go straight thru two lights, crossing over Little Patuxent Parkway, make first right into parking garage. 

FROM POINTS SOUTH & EAST:
If you are coming from the SOUTH, take Washington DC Beltway 495 to 95 North+ towards Baltimore to Route 32 West towards Columbia. If you are coming from the EAST, take Route 97 North to Route 32 West towards Columbia. Continue on Route 32 (DO NOT take the Broken Land Parkway exit you see while on Rt 32!) to Route 29 North towards Columbia. Take Broken Land Parkway exit 18B towards Merriweather. Continue thru 2 lights crossing over Little Patuxent Parkway, make first right into parking garage.
