This February and March, River Hill Theatre Arts will present its spring musical, Chicago: High School Edition, by Jon Kander and Fred Ebb.

When Roxie Hart ends up in the Cook County Jail for shooting her lover, she finds herself competing with Vaudeville star Velma Kelly for the spotlight in this jazzy romp of a Broadway classic. With the help of smarmy lawyer Billy Flynn, and some money drummed up by her spurned lover Amos, Roxie puts on a show to razzle-dazzle the jury into a favorable verdict. Chicago features such fabulous tunes as “All That Jazz,” “Razzle Dazzle” and “We Both Reached for the Gun.” Produced and directed by River Hill Theatre Arts Teacher Lindsay Feldman, this show features a production team of new minds and seasoned veterans alike. Katie Geiger serves as music director and pit conductor, and Jennifer Hennessie and Deven Ferrer put their own spin on Bob Fosse’s iconic steps as choreographers. River Hill welcomes Stephen Strosnider as set designer and master carpenter. Rhonda de la Mar will design costumes, Al Ramer will design lights, and Luke Greffen will design sound. The production team will be be supported by RHHS’s inimitable parent volunteers, and of course, student artists.

The cast of RHHS students includes Kaitlyn Burnett, Deven Ferrer, Mia Ehrlich, Megan Radcliffe, Brennan Young, Zach Shields, Ryan True, Henry Grinnell, Joey Heitzman, Joseph Griffin, Caroline Lovelace, Margo McCready, Tess Redman, Zane Dalton, Ethan Wettstein, Ian Quill, Nolan Flannigan, Alex Fernandes, Ashleigh Steinberg, Nick Pelletiere, Steven Tang, Alexander Liu, Luke Meininger, Holden Levy, Jena Bernstein, Ava Jorif, Rebecca Le, Rose Fernandes, Olivia Cornelius, Molly Gawthrop, Amaya Aranda, Ashley Chen, Vivian Lee, Tess Redman, Diana Warner, Promiti Ali, Rebecca Blau, Arethabelle Smith, Julianne Blackman, Maya Vibhakar, Hailey Politzer, Ainsley Little, and Caitie Urban.
