This March, the River Hill High School Theatre Arts Department will proudly present the Broadway musical, Pippin. With a memorable score from multiple Tony, Oscar, and Grammy winner, Stephen Schwartz, Pippin is the story of one young man's journey to be extraordinary. This multiple Tony-award winning show was originally produced on Broadway in 1972 (directed by the legendary Bob Fosse) and then successfully revived in 2015. River Hill’s production promises to bring magic and joy to the hearts of audience members of all ages. Heir to the throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield and the intrigues of political power. In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the simple joys and ordinary moments that happen every day. Produced, directed, and choreographed by RHHS Theatre Arts teacher Pam Land, the show is also co-choreographed by RHHS dance teacher ,Jennifer Hennessie, RHHS student, Deven Ferrer and Dana Keane, artistic director of Studio Dans. Assisting as student directors are Julianne Blackman, Ashleigh Steinberg, and Sonia Goyal. Joe Blasko, a longtime friend of RHHS Theatre Arts, will direct the construction of the set with assistance from RHHS alumni parents George Stone, Bob Bost, and Steve Fulford. A crew of more than 30 dedicated students led by student stage manager Autumn Mack, will build the set and props and run the show. RHHS vocal music teacher, Katie Geiger, will direct the vocals and prepare the student orchestra. RHHS math teacher Rhonda De La Mar will design costumes with the assistance of a wonderful team of parent volunteers.

The cast of more than 40 RHHS students includes Austin Abraham (Pippin), Jasmine Tiamfook (Leading Player), Jerry Chen (Leading Player), Matt Island (Charlemagne), Brennen Young (Charlemagne), Mia Ehrlich (Fastrada), Deven Ferrer (Fastrada), Robyn Levy (Berthe), Ashleigh Steinberg (Berthe), Danielle Gover (Catherine) , Caroline Lovelace (Catherine), Joey Heitzmann (Lewis), Ryan True (Lewis), and Dillan Goel (Theo)
