River Hill Student Gabrielle Lewis Selected for a Crafton Award

Gabrielle Lewis (10th grade) entered an Intellectual Freedom Challenge essay competition sponsored by the National English Honor Society. Her essay was 1 of only 12 (nationally) that was selected for a Crafton Award (named after Dr. Robert Crafton, past president of Sigma Tau Delta, whose vision generated this effort).  Her essay will be forwarded to the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE); essays selected to become part of the rationale holdings of the National Council of Teachers of English (up to a maximum of six) will result in an additional award for the student writers and their sponsoring NEHS chapters.
