Students to Present at Prestigious Medical Conferences

Four River Hill students are achieving some very adult accomplishments.  Ben Xu, Richard Xu, Renee Tung, and Eric Frank--founding members of River Hill E-Health Research Initiative Club (ERIC)--have created an abstract and a paper titled "Longitudinal Study on Independent and Joint Effect of Brachial-Ankle Pulse Wave Velocity and Blood Pressure Control on Incident Stroke in Hypertensive Patients." They will present their findings at two very prestigious medical conferences:  The American College of Cardiology's 65th annual scientific session in Chicago on April 2-4, and the Experimental Biology Conference in San Diego on April 1-6.  In addition, the paper that these students wrote was favorably reviewed by Hypertension, the number one medical journal in the field of hypertension.  The paper is currently under revision for publication.  These students have met at least once a month for the last year and a half to complete their research, and their efforts have resulted in their presenting in front of a group of professional medical experts.  This amazing accomplishment is certainly a testament to the quality of students we have here at River Hill, and our school's commitment to giving students a chance to pursue real-world goals during their high school careers.  Well done and good luck to Ben, Richard, Renee, and Eric!
