Mon, 12/07/2015 - 12:44pm

As part of the ELF project for the 2015 holiday season, the students of River Hill High School’s Leadership Class has adopted 15 student from a Turner Elementary School Preschool class. Turner Elementary School, located in Washington D.C. has students suffering from financial needs. The ELF Project, which Mrs. Fairley and her husband, Mr. Darryl Fairley created to adopt the school for the past 11 years, donates toys, clothing and books for the students of Turner Elementary School during the holiday season. The Leadership Class, consisting of 17 seniors representing various groups and organizations within River Hill, has each paired with a preschooler. Each preschooler will be receiving one winter coat, one winter accessory (i.e. scarf, gloves/mittens, or hat), one outfit consisting of a long sleeved shirt, one pair of pants/dress, one pair of socks, and one toy. The remaining two seniors are putting together a basket for the class’s teacher with various materials that will benefit the classroom and allow for more activities during the holiday season and the remaining school year. The gifts will be delivered to the preschool class and the other students from Turner Elementary School on Thursday, December 17th. The Leadership class is grateful for the opportunity to help spread some holiday cheer for the students and teachers of Turner Elementary.
