On Thursday November 12, the English Department welcomed Laura Shovan, the Howard County Poetry and Literature Writer/ Poet in Residence to River Hill. Ms. Shovan is the poetry editor for Little Patuxent Review and the author of several books of poetry. She shared her own writing and conducted a poetry workshop for students in Ms. Mitchell's and Ms. Curry's classes, where students used post cards to inspire their writing.
