Watershed Report Card Summit

Throughout the school year, 60 Biology students from River Hill evaluated the impact River Hill had on the Middle Patuxent Sub-Watershed. The students completed a number of tests to measure the River Hill School Yard.  River Hill's Watershed grade is a D+. It is third best in the county. After gathering and collecting the data, the students analyzed and interpreted the data before brainstorming different ideas to help improve River Hill's impact on the watershed. The main ideas were (no mow meadow), planting more native trees through volunteer groups, and increasing the number of compost and recycling bins with posters and petitions. Seventeen students were chosen to advocate for River Hill at the Watershed summit held on April 20, 2016.

The Watershed summit will be streamed live from 9:00 A.M. to 10:20 A.M.  The web address is http://livestream.com/hcpsstv/events/5033388
